Back in 2010 I was extremely fortunate to be working with a great Dutch talent, Maaike Mae. Around the same time, I was writing new songs, including a song called "Broken". The song came to me one day as I was sitting behind my keyboard playing the opening riff of this song with a guitar sound. The sad notes made me write a song about heartbreak, about a relationship that has fallen apart and how one of the two lovers is left completely broken and how that person experiences the breakup. Ultimately, I asked my good friend Nic to play the riff on a real guitar and Maaike to sing the vocals, resulting in a great rendition of this song.

Back in 2010, when I first released this song, I didn't have all the sounds that I really wanted to use for this song, so now, almost 10 years later, I wanted to do a re-master of the song with my new all-digital setup. This is the 2019 remaster version of "Broken".
